Join us Tuesday evening prior to the 20th OOPSLA Retrospective for a dessert and coffee reception to celebrate the tenth birthday of the Java programming language, with featured Java technology experts. The reception is sponsored by the Java Community Process (JCP) program and is open to all conference attendees. The reception is set up to be an informal and highly interactive format to engage in discussions with your peers about past, present and future Java technology specifications, projects, and more.
About the JCP Program:Since its introduction in 1998 as the open, inclusive process to develop and revise Java technology specifications, reference implementations, and technology compatibility kits, the JCP program has fostered the evolution of the Java platform in cooperation with the international Java developer community. The JCP program has over 900 company and individual participants; more than 280 Java technology specifications are in development in the JCP program out of which 45% are in final stages.
